Hazel is an experienced floristry teacher and professional designer.
Do you love having flowers around your work, home and family but wish you could have more ability to make beautiful creations like the professionals? Are you looking for a hobby which will bring colour, relaxation and enjoyment to your world?
In this course you will learn to draw from easily accessible resources in your garden, home and local market. Even if you have no flowers in your garden or no garden! you can still participate in this fulfilling hobby.

Please bring a bunch of flowers and foliages to your first class and each lesson.
This course will cover:
1. Spiraling and hand tying natural stems, i.e. posy styles and bouquets including vase placement and /or presentation wrapping and bow tying.
2. Arranging stems into floral foam in various styles and containers to suit individual decors and occasions.
3. Designing elegant and simple line/form arrangements.
4. Modern approaches to flower arranging in various mediums such as gels, grid suspensions and submerged flowers.
5. Instruction on the care of cut flowers.
6. Technical instruction on wiring and mechanics.
7. Information on the types of flowers, foliages and materials suitable.
NB. You will need to supply your own flowers for this course and you should allow $10 to $20 for each lesson. Some materials can be re used. A concise list of weekly requirements will be given throughout the course. You will be contacted re materials for the first lesson.
